Gladiadora
The main play combines fair-price edge, suitability for conditions, and enough confidence to justify involvement.
- Recent form profile is a major positive
- Ratings stack up strongly against this field
- Today’s trip looks ideal
- Ground conditions suit the selection
Why The Favourite Can Be Opposed
The market still matters, but the aim is to find where price and reality have drifted apart.
- Market efficiency is running at 0%, so edge is still available if the reasoning is specific enough.

Dual 7f winner early last year but has done a lot of recent racing in sprints and she pulled hard back up to this trip last month; a danger that she'll do the same again from the outside stall and much will hinge on how she settles early.
Goes well round switchback tracks and is back down in class today having contested a couple of 0-70 handicaps over C&D latterly; not much room for manoeuvre off this mark but is capable of running well.
Has done most racing over further and an easy 7f is a bare minimum but she's returned from a short break with two solid efforts under Liam Wright; up another 2lb for her Nottingham near-miss but has to enter calculations.
Remains a maiden and has had plenty of chances but she went close a couple of times round here for Harry Eustace; better effort at a big price last time, switched from cheekpieces to blinkers, and holds claims on that.
Won three over 1m at Brighton last summer, latterly off a 1lb lower mark, before losing her way; a poor comeback effort for her new yard four weeks ago leaves her hard to recommend.
Often misses the break and can pull hard, so will always come with risks attached; has resumed in good form, though, latterly behind a couple of subsequent winners at Chelmsford, and is quite capable off this mark if things fall his way.
Regressive gelding who's often been inclined to pull hard since returning from a year off; winless since his 3yo days and there are safer options.
String of poor efforts for two yards last year and two more this spring, latterly over C&D; this is easier again, dropped another 5lb in second-time cheekpieces, but he's hard to make a case for.
Serial slow starter who switches back from blinkers to the visor sported for last month's 0-50 Kempton win; will be happier back up from 6f but is yet another who'll need some luck from a wide stall.
Wildly inconsistent mare whose C&D dead-heat in February (third course win) came from out of the blue at 33-1; reverted to type since and it's hard to know what to expect as always.
On the downgrade last year; third to Vitalline in a 0-50 classified event on his Kempton comeback early last month but has since run only fairly from the front over C&D; others appeal more.
