Second of 16 in a C&D handicap last September; followed that with a good run at Haydock but he went up the weights and was well beaten at Lingfield when last seen; ran well after an absence last year but perhaps a shade high in the weights for this.
Both wins and most of his best RPRs have come on AW but his turf runs have come in stronger company than this; drops to 5f for the first time in his career; others look safer.
Two solid placed efforts have followed his AW win (6f; dead-heated) at Chelmsford last October; still has relatively low mileage and a promising claimer has been booked; first 5f run since his 2yo days.
Second in this race last year before running out the ready winner of a 5f AW handicap at Haydock last May (good to firm) off a 1lb lower mark; made an encouraging return to action at Beverley 16 days ago; each-way shout.
Made a winning debut for this yard at Newmarket last July (5f, good to firm) and he is now 3lb lower; patchy record since but he can go well fresh and he has a good C&D run on his record.
Not handicapped out of things and his latest run at Pontefract, his first start for 12 weeks, was creditable; twice a course winner and likely to make a bold bid.
Ran quite well when an unconsidered 100-1 shot at Royal Ascot last summer but that didn't prove a springboard to better things; down in the weights but best watched back from a 245-day break.
Effective at 5f but last summer's two wins came over 6f; not beaten far at Chelmsford (5f) when last seen in December; still has relatively low mileage.
Ran a fine race when third over C&D last July and he turns up here off an 8lb lower mark; poorly drawn when down the field at Lingfield on Good Friday; could bounce back with a big run.
Well handicapped on his best form for Alice Haynes and he made an encouraging stable debut when a close third at Southwell three weeks ago; one to be interested in.
Narrow Newcastle win on her penultimate start; did best of the rest behind an emphatic all-the-way winner at Yarmouth three weeks ago (5f, good); this race should be more conventional and she is more appealing than many.
Had a troubled trip when down the field at Wolverhampton in February but he had been running well beforehand, including a couple of AW wins; others appeal as being better handicapped.
His first three starts saw him well beaten over 7f but he has not looked back since dropped to 6f, winning seven times and placed on his other three runs; could only manage second at Chelmsford five weeks ago but the horse to beat him is now rated 17lb higher and that shouldn't be used as evidence he is in the handicapper's grip; more to prove back on turf and at a new trip but few arrive in better form.
Down the field in three maiden/novice runs but he proved a different proposition on his handicap debut last September (6f, AW; first run after wind surgery), landing a gamble in emphatic fashion; followed up, again easily, in a selling handicap at Thirsk one week later; came up short off his revised mark at Newcastle five weeks ago (first run for 193 days); better than that but dropping to 5f asks a new question of him.
Ended a lengthy losing run at Southwell in January and he is just 1lb higher today; solid effort at Newmarket 17 days ago when not ideally positioned; each-way claims at a track where he has run well in much better races than this one.
The winner of five AW handicaps (5f-6f) since September for her new stable; 6lb higher than for the latest of them and others appeal as being better treated.
Not without his quirks but he has plenty of ability for one of his rating and everything clicked in a Class 6 handicap at Salisbury last June (6f, good to firm); three second placings followed and he should win more races this year; the drop back to 5f for this habitual slow-starter is a concern though.
