Miss Nightfall
The main play combines fair-price edge, suitability for conditions, and enough confidence to justify involvement.
- Ratings stack up strongly against this field
- Current price still underrates the chance
- 14-day trainer form is strong
- Today’s trip looks ideal
Why The Favourite Can Be Opposed
The market still matters, but the aim is to find where price and reality have drifted apart.
- Market efficiency is running at 0%, so edge is still available if the reasoning is specific enough.
- Available race evidence is 67% complete.

Last season went well in 6f/7f handicaps and was only 3l away in a Group 3 on one occasion; however, that campaign ended badly and her reappearance at the Craven meeting was no better.
Has only won a novice in 13 starts but has some classy form to her name, notably a close fifth in a Group 3 over this trip last September; has contested Listed or Group races in her last four starts (first attempt at 1m on return) and her handicap form is very solid.
8lb higher than for her only handicap win but was not beaten far in a blanket finish at Lingfield (7f, AW; stable debut) and the tongue-tie tried when below her best last time is swiftly removed; better now than when last seen on turf earlier in career; should go well.
C&D winner who did well to win over 6f at Kempton (AW) 22 days ago as this is probably more her trip; however, the rise in grade off a 6lb higher mark asks questions of her.
In first-time cheekpieces she was a closing fourth last time at Lingfield (7f, AW) in a race she won the previous year; all three wins have come on the AW but has comparable turf form (0-3); enters the reckoning.
Five-time winner who lurks on a good mark; hasn't been at her best this year, though January's run was okay and if new cheekpieces do the trick then she could be dangerous.
Course winner last September over 6f on soft ground when 3lb lower; ran okay after her break last week but this is much tougher than usual.
